Background

     Kiwanis International is an international organization in 96 countries throughout this world comprised of approximately 600,000 men, women, young boys and girls. It consists of 8,400 Kiwanis Clubs, Circle K Clubs on over 500 University and College campuses, Key Clubs in over 4,700 High Schools, and Builders Clubs in over 2,000 Middle and Junior High Schools. In 2006, Kiwanis International clubs implemented 147,000 service projects, involving the expenditure of over $100,000,000 and the dedication of 6,200,000 man hours.

     Objects of Kiwanis International:
· To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.
· To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.
· To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards.
· To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.
· To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.
· To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.

Meetings: Meets every Tuesday at 6:30pm at the Crossroads Country Cafe, 15916 W. High St. in Middlefield, across from CVS (440-632-0191, www.crossroadscountrycafe.com). Third Tuesday is "Kiwanis Night Out" and rotates to various local restaurants. Fourth Tuesday is Board meeting night.
